Portraits & Flash Photography
This photography workshop is for photographers who want to master the art of taking portraits using all types of light: natural light, flashes, and studio strobes. Weather permitting, we will work both inside and out, learning the best settings for your camera, the best portrait lenses, and many tips and tricks for using available light sources to produce the most attractive images. Model(s) will be available for a substantial portion of the workshop.
Key elements of the workshop:
- The best lenses and apertures to use
- Working with your subject, giving instructions, positioning
- Reflecting available light and using shadows
- Flash settings and positions
- Simple and effective studio strobe setups
I will answer individual questions and provide assistance to those who are experiencing specific problems with their photography throughout the day. At the end of the photography session we will return to the classroom and download each student’s images to process and critique. This is a great opportunity to learn how to maximize the creativity and quality of your images.
