Movie-Making Workshop for Beginners

Join filmmaker and photographer Mike Byrne for a fabulous movie-making experience. This workshop is aimed at beginner and novice movie-makers and is suitable for those using DSLR cameras, camcorders or for those using point-and-shoot cameras with video capabilities. Each participant will learn all the steps necessary to produce polished and entertaining videos.

* Capturing and cataloging your video clips on your computer

* Outputting video for mobile devices, YouTube and HD
The workshop will begin by looking at the keys for shooting useful video clips including: camera settings, use of tripods, pros and cons of handheld shooting, and video file formats. We will then look at several tools for working with video on a computer, including tools for converting video file formats, programs that will capture and log video clips, and video-editing programs.
Participants will then assemble their own video using Final Cut video-editing software. Video editing instruction will include: working with a timeline, editing clips, adding transitions, titles and special effects; plus adding music and sound effects.
Finally, each participant will output their video and show it off to the class. Participants will be able to upload their video to sites like Facebook and YouTube.
